As goes the famous saying by George Eliot; “Adventure is not outside man; it is within”. This saying holds true for this gorgeous lady whose life’s adventure towered her to a life of success. Christie Lee Sharpe stands as an inspiration for today’s women. Her hard work and effort, paid off and at present we all know her as an Australian entrepreneur. Christie Lee Sharpe’s childhood had been full of challenges but, she pulled through life and with sheer success. This brings to light her determination and rebelling spirit. As she herself reveals “I took a few wrong turns and found myself in situations that were very testing. If I had my time again I wouldn’t change a thing because I’ve learnt some amazing lessons and it’s given me a special strength to help others.” During those troubled times of her life, she indulged in self grooming and sought solace in studies.

She developed an admiration for speakers like John Dermartini and drew inspiration from him. She attended several programs the like of which includes ‘The Breakthrough Experience’. These programs helped her get an insight into a much deeper aspect of life. Her love for travelling made her traverse 25 countries. During her expedition she happened to volunteer for an orphanage in China. This was a life changing experience for her and helped broaden her perspective on life.

She also developed a love for marine life which emanated from her 10 years experience in Airlie Beach in North Queensland, which also happens to be the abode of the Great Barrier Reef and the Whitsunday Islands. As she recalls “I remember spending countless weekend scuba diving and snorkeling. Growing up in one of the most beautiful places in the world definitely pulls at your heart strings, and makes you feel so strongly about wanting to protect it”. She has matured through her experiences in the business world, through marketing and sales. At the onset of her career she worked at a High Street retail management in London and also worked as a National Sales Manager for a swimwear company on the Gold Coast.

Her business adventure at every turn of her life helped her come up with new innovative ideas for the world. Her ideas are fresh and new and this is perceived in her creations, one of them ‘Fancy My Friend’. A dramatically new concept, this show has won the heart of all and sundry. It was her appearance as a cover girl for the “Australian Hair and Beauty Magazine” that changed the course of her life. Her love for the health and beauty world paved her way as a writer for the same magazine. As she herself exclaims “I’m really excited as I have now joined their team as their health and beauty writer. I have a love of the health and beauty industry and when the magazine editor found out I was writing a book on health and beauty she was quick to offer me the job.”

She thereafter moved to Sydney along with her partner David Whitehill. Her appearance as a co-host with David Whitehill on the Channel 7 travel series ‘Whats up Down Under’ has also given her much popularity. She is also the media spokesperson for Eco Tan in Sydney which happens to be Australia’s first certified organic tan founded by Currumbin’s Sonya Driver. In 2009 Christie Sharpe co-founded a company with her fiancé, Television Presenter David Whitehall called Our Blue Backyard.  While this company never fully broke through to the main stream market, the vision was great.  The idea behind the company was to raise awareness about all of the endangered marine animals.  Sharpe understands the times we live in and how people can forget about endangered animals because they get too caught up in their own lives.  Our Blue Backyard wanted to bring such issues into the public light.  They started a website and got the idea of a TV show going, but it never fully played out.  The concept also wanted to focus on the people who help endangered animals showing the struggles they go through just to keep an endanger species alive.

Christie on Relationships:

After Christie’s parents divorced when she was 18, and then having gone through her first serious relationship breakup at the age of 23, it sparked Christie to really want to understand how to attract the ‘right’ partner. It was then that her mother introduced her to various specialised authors and speakers including relationship and human behavior expert Dr John Demartini.

Christie spent four years learning and developing a new way of thinking and she made it her goal to master the art of creating healthy and balanced relationships in her life.

“After applying some of the methods I learnt, I started to become the ‘go-to person’ for relationship advice amongst my friends. My mantra is: if you can love yourself for who you are; master the art of communication, and learn to balance your emotions, then you can attract and have loving and lasting relationships.”

Today Christie is happily engaged to Channel Nine Television’s Wildlife Presenter, David Whitehill. Since their chance meeting on New Year’s Day 2009, the two have been together for close to four years.
